From performing in front of 30,000 audience members at Beatstock, to grooving alongside Beyonce’s choreographers, to performing for Kenny Ortega at the Astaire Awards, being cast on the NJ Nets Kids and performing on shows like MTV’s America’s Best Dance Crew and America’s Got Talent, ICON is the epitome of opportunity. We’ve set out to create a symbol of success in the heart of the Garden State and we devote countless hours of care for each of our students. We’ve taken recreational dancing to an exciting new level. ICON of the Year 2011-2012, Julian DeGuzman

Congratulations to Julian DeGuzman, 2011-2012 ICON of the Year. Julian is 10 years old and has been dancing for 3 years. He takes jazz and Hip Hop, but soon, he'll also take tap. His mentors are GEO, Beth, Michael Jackson, Christ Brown and the Jabbawockeez. His favorite song is "Cinema" by Skrillex and his favorite dance movie is "Step Up 3". Each year, the founders of ICON showcase and honor the hardest working student that acts as a role model for the entire studio. The ICON of the Year is rewarded with an annual scholarship and becomes a spokesperson for the studio with featured performances, appearances, print ads and more. The ICON of Year has the opportunity to travel, speak at events and motivate students to be their best in their art form and in life. The ICON of the Year is often celebrated via our powerful network of brand names.
